Robert A. Pastor, Class of 1969, discusses the concept of North American integration Sept. 27.
Robert A. Pastor, one of the most respected voices in the field of international relations, will speak at Lafayette College 7:30–9:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 27 in Kirby Hall of Civil Rights, room 104. The talk is free and open to the public.
The author and editor of over 17 works, Pastor will talk about North American integration, an idea based on the interdependence of United States, Canada, and Mexico. Pastor believes public support needs to be mobilized for continental solutions to infrastructure, immigration, and other problems that have confounded each nation working on its own.
Pastor served as President Carter’s National Security Advisor for Latin America, and is a distinguished professor at American University, where he teaches international affairs. In addition to teaching, Pastor served as vice president of international affairs at AU for five years, during which he established the American University of Nigeria and implemented new language immersion programs.
Pastor’s talk is sponsored by the International Affairs Program at Lafayette.
